New York, NY – The latest mixtape from the world famous Soul Controller DJ Power. Power, a native of Toronto, teamed up with HipHopCanada for the release of Canadian Invasion Volume 2 which features a large variety of Canadian artists. New York, NY – Award winning mixtape guru, DJ Power, has released the Canadian Invasion 2 mixtape, a joint collaboration with award winning Canadian hip-hop publication, HipHopCanada.

The purpose of the release is to showcase Canadian talent internationally via free digital downloads, and also targeting key Canadian and American cities through the hand-to-hand distribution of hard copy CDs. Artists featured on the mixtape include Drake, k-os, Kardinal Offishall, Daryll Riley, S. Davis, Andreena Mills, Motion, Solitair, J Diggz, Richie Sosa and more.

“I’m glad to be able to work with HipHopCanada and put out this mixtape that showcases just a small piece of Canadian talent to the world”, stated Power whose mixtapes have been featured in the NY Times, Scratch Magazine, and Germany’s Riddim Mag, to name a few. The mixtape is the first of many collaborations between DJ Power and HipHopCanada, as they continue to dedicate themselves to promoting and branding Canadian hip-hop on an international scale.

“We are very happy to team up with a DJ of Power’s stature and experience to effectively promote Canadian hip-hop to new fans through the Canadian Invasion mixtape series”, said HipHopCanada co-owner Jesse Plunkett.

Power, a Toronto native who now resides in New York City, gained fame through the popularity of his Soul Controllers’ Reggae Meets Hip-Hop mixtape which earned him a Justo Mixtape award and has built an international reputation for his exclusive remixes. Aside from a regular stream of mixtapes hitting the street, Power is also constantly touring the world club circuit and taking on the tour DJ role for international reggae star Junior Reid. He also brings in over 3 million listeners weekly alongside host Mad Linx for their syndicated radio show, Outta Control Radio (

HipHopCanada is the largest online Canadian hip-hop publication and community which has been in operation since the turn of the millennium. The company has won numerous awards and has been referenced by mainstream media on numerous occasions including MuchMusic, GlobalTV, CityTV, MTV, CBC, Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star and a variety of others.
