Canadian hip-hop honoured at 2010 MuchMusic Video Awards [News]
Toronto, ON – Canadian and International stars of all types flocked to Toronto Sunday night for the 2010 MuchMusic Awards. Canadian hip-hop was well represented with Drake, K’naan, and Belly each taking home awards.
Drake, who lead the pack with 7 nomionations, won 2 awards for “Successful” featuring Trey Songz including MuchVibe Hip-Hop Video of the Year and Cinematography of the Year. K’naan won the Most Watched Video of the Year award for his Young Artists of Haiti version of “Wavin’ Flag”. Belly won VideoFACT Indie Video of the Year for his “Hot Girl (RMX)” featuring Snoop Dogg.
A big shout-out to all the other Canadian talents that didn’t win but were received nominations for their contributions to an extremly successful year for Canadian hip-hop. They include: Classified, Cazhhmere, Kardinal Offishall, k-os, Lil X, RT!, Riley, Maestro, Choclair and Moka Only.
