Sese – Your Favourite Rappers Worst Nightmare [Review]
St. Catherines, ON – Wow! Who said gangster rap was dead. Sese takes a no holds barred approach to Your Favourite Rappers Worst Nightmare (YFRWN) mixtape. He sets the tone from the very first bar of his intro, burning through bars on beats reminiscent of Prodigy in his hey day. But apart from the hard flows and cut throat lyrics, Sese was able to achieve a level of cohesiveness with YFRWN not usually particular to a mixtape.
His sound is consistent all the way through, whether going bar to bar with Luu Breeze on “Pow,” or blending cooly with the smooth vocals of JRDN on “It Aint Safe.” Whatever the track or whoever the feature, Sese always stood out, not getting lost trying to compromise his style, instead bending the production to match his energy. YFRWN is a banger for the streets; that blast in your car, don’t care about nothing type of music, filled with enough punch-lines and “tough talk” to satisfy any true hip-hop junkie.
