New Orleans rapper Magnolia Shorty killed in double homicide [News]
New Orleans, LA – Local radio station Q93.3 FM reported yesterday evening that 28-year-old recording artist Magnolia Shorty (the 2nd female artist signed to Cash Money Records) had been gunned down earlier in the day in a double homicide. By late afternoon, the Twitter world had latched on to the news and within an hour the name “Magnolia Shorty” became a trending topic. By the time of this posting, The Orleans Parish coroner’s office had yet to release an official statement with the names of the victims so there is no confirmation that she was indeed one of the victims, but it is likely considering no one from her immediate circle has denied the claims.
Magnolia Shorty signed to Cash Money in the early 90’s. She was brought to the attention of owners Bryan “Baby” and Ronald “Slim” Williams by members of the Hot Boys who had been her childhood friends growing up in the Magnolia Project. Recently she was featured on “My Boy,” a collabo with newly signed Jive Records artist, R&B singer Kourtney Heart. Rest in peace, Magnolia Shorty.
