SPITZ vs. JIXX: No Competition But Us [Mixtape]

Toronto, ON – There is a difference between a rapper and an emcee. Rappers these days come a dime-a-dozen but true emcees are a rarity. An emcee lives for the competition and sport of the game, to go down as the one of the best to ever do it. Word play, metaphors, punch lines, similes and flow are all tools of the trade that an Emcee must master. Two of Toronto’s most promising up and coming emcees Tommy SPITZ and Yung Jixx of GCP have just dropped their latest mixtape release SPITZ vs JIXX: No Competition But Us which is available for free download after the jump.

The project is mixed and cut by the award winning DJ Law (Beatminerz Radio) and is hosted by JJ is Jeni from Toronto’s Flow 93.5 FM. The mixtape features both dub’s over industry beats and original songs. The first two singles off “SPITZ vs JIXX” are Tommy SPITZ new video single “I’m Cool” which is now available on itunes world wide and Yung Jixx’s new single “My Way or The Highway”.

Tommy Spitz signature flow and punch lines along with his Mr. Cool persona come out in full force on the Mixtape. One of the first single’s, “Im Cool”, is SPITZ first official single, the video was shot in June and featured cameos from a bunch of Toronto’s top talents including. Lyrics like “I don’t even watch for y’all, I do my own thang” and “I ain’t looking for no rap friends, but i still got a couple of”em” the super emcee shows that he’s here to do things his own way and take himself to the top.

The overall theme of the mixtape is an all out friendly rivalry between real emcee’s going back and forth on verses. Dropping lines like “If I ain’t the best, then Jixx is and at least I know that I got next” and “Ain’t Nobody realer, and if they realer they part of my familia”, this project is also a warning to the whole industry that SPITZ and Jixx mean business and are serious competition for other rappers on the come up. The 16 track mixtape has something for everyone who’s a fan of hip hop, from street anthems to club bangers as SPITZ and Jixx show us their definition of what it means to be an emcee.
