OG Hindu Kush – Hell’s Kitchen ft. Royce da 5’9″ [Audio/PSA]

Ottawa/Montreal – Today’s Song of the Day is a dope single by OG Hindu Kush called “Hell’s Kitchen” featuring Slaughterhouse MC Royce da 5’9″. The song is featured on the duo’s album debut OG Hindu Kush In 3D. Loe Pesci and Osa come together to form a strong talented alliance. “Both are icons of the international battle scene, Osa having won one of Canada’s most high-profile freestyle battles, “Rip the Mic” in 2003 judged by Talib Kweli, and Loe Pesci being one of the most popular and most feared competitors on the King of the Dot (KOTD)/Grindtime battle circuits, their battles garnering well over half a million YouTube views.” The song was produced by Crack Moses (Flight Distance). You can purchase the album by clicking here – with cover that is genuinely in 3D – each album comes with a pair of 3D glasses.

Press Release

With a cover that is genuinely in 3D – each album comes with a pair of 3D glasses – Canadian hip hop artists OG Hindu Kush have produced an album whose art matches the rap duo’s intelligent, in-your-face and intricate word-play rhymes. The three-years-in-the-making album is a testament to this (literally) battle-tested rap duo’s lethal wit and delivery skills.

Both are icons of the international battle scene, Osa having won one of Canada’s most high-profile freestyle battles, “Rip the Mic” in 2003 judged by Talib Kweli, and Loe Pesci being one of the most popular and most feared competitors on the King of the Dot (KOTD)/Grindtime battle circuits, their battles garnering well over half a million YouTube views.

Evoking golden era hip hop, the album’s eclectic beats draw from a number of influences ranging from the West Coast-tinged “How You Like Me Now?” to the grimy East Coast-flavoured “Hell’s Kitchen” featuring Royce da 5’9″.

“We stand behind the music that we make. We believe in our vision and because of that we feel like we are something of a dying breed,” say the duo. “No matter what kind of hip hop it is, if it’s good music then people will appreciate it.”

The album release on Feb. 16 2011 will kick off an international whirlwind for OG Hindu Kush, beginning with a show in Osa’s hometown of Ottawa, then taking off to Europe for battles and performances in Manchester, London, and Paris – suitable for the duo who had the following to say about what they wish to achieve with this album:

“International success. Is that not the point? What’s the point of making music if you can’t take that music out of your own city, and share it with the world?”

The album is available at http://www.StepYourLifeGameUp.com/Store.
