In The Booth With Reema Major [Article/Photos]

Photographer Melissa Moffat continues to be front and center, documenting the rise of young Reema Major. The 15-year old out of Toronto recently released her new mixtape I Am Legend and Melissa was there to provide HipHopCanada readers with an exclusive look inside Reema’s creative process.

Toronto, ON – Although she came to the studio feeling sick and not herself, it didn’t take long for her to be seduced by the mic, headphones and darkened booth. Illuminated only by a Blackberry and her old-soul wisdom, the 15 year old legend in the making unfolds her world in verse after slamming verse.

Adding fire to beats of made by Kwajo Cinqo, Rezza Brothers, TNyce, Animal, Arthur McArthur and Midnight Marauders. Reema is a beast in the booth. A first take miracle, who executes with efficiency that many MCs brag about but few can deliver. Even the dirty south double time flow is ashes in two takes. Download Reema Major’s I AM LEGEND here and decide for yourself if the hype is for real.
