Toronto, ON – Beatbox Canada is proud to present the 2nd Annual Canadian Beatbox Championships at the Mod Club Theatre in Toronto, Saturday, November 12, 2011 from 5p.m.-10:30 p.m. The top 16 beatbox musicians of our country will compete for the title to represent Canada on an international stage at the World Beatbox Championships in Berlin, Germany 2012.

The TOP 16 contenders are flying in from all over Canada including Quebec, Newfoundland and Ontario. Video submissions were sent from vocal percussionists in every province. Just like the audition piece, competitors will be judged on technique, originality, style and stage presence; promising a night of entertainment and jaw-dropping, all natural beats.

The bar is set high as the 2011 TOP 15 prepare to battle defending champ and last year’s first ever Canadian Beatbox Champion, KRNFX (1st Place South Korean Beatbox Championships 2007 & 2009, Winner of Redbull Academy Culture Clash 2011, Finalist at World Beatbox Championships 2009) who will represent Canada at the World Beatbox Championships in Berlin, Germany March 2012 along with this year’s winner.

“We’re proud to organize an event that supports and showcases this cultural music art form that has been underground for so long,” said Gary Goudini, executive director. “The success and demand of the first ever Championship of its kind in Canada has brought the artform to new heights and is now finally receiving the respect it deserves.”
