Drake releases 2nd official studio album, Take Care – Available on iTunes [News]
Toronto, ON – Just logged off iTunes fresh from purchasing the new Drake album, Take Care. Originally scheduled for release on Drizzy’s birthday, October 24th, but pushed back to allow for sample clearance, the album is now officially available online and at retail outlets across North America.
Take Care is Drake’s second studio album and it follows his highly successful debut, Thank Me Later. The project was released through Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records and Universal Republic. To date it has featured 2 singles (“Headlines,” “Make Me Proud” featuring Nicki Minaj) that have both charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and has received predominantly positive reviews from critics. The song “Marvin’s Room” was also released as a promotion single and it peaked at 21 on Billboard. The bonus song “The Motto” featuring Lil Wayne was released paying homage to the Bay Area and song #4 called “Crew Love” featuring The Weeknd was premiered on Flow 93.5 on November 6th.
Of the 17 songs featured on the album, only 1 does not feature Canadian production. Noah “40” Shebib is the project’s main producer but there are frequent appearances by T-Minus. Boi-1da took the lead on the album’s lead single “Headlines” and Drake even notched a few co-production credits himself on the tracks “The Real Here” featuring Weezy and André 3000 and the “Cameras / Good Ones Go” interlude. Other guest appearances include The Weeknd, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Birdman, and living legend Stevie Wonder.
