Ian Kamau and Keisha Monique to do joint release party in Toronto, Friday, Nov. 11 [News]

Toronto, ON – 11.11.11 is a collaborative event by Ian Kamau and Keisha Monique Simpson. Ian Kamau will be officially launching his album One Day Soon in sync with Keisha Monique’s pre-release of her book Because We Were Born. The evening will feature performances by Keisha Monique and Ian Kamau as well as hip-hop artist – Progress, singer/songwriters – Victoria Sol and Brendan Phillip ,and spoken word artists Brandon Wint and Ikenna Onyegbula. 11.11.11 will also feature a photography exhibition of Ian Kamau and Keisha-Monique’s return to Africa (Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Benin, Sierre Leone, South Afrika and Zimbabwe). Photos will be available for purchase on the evening of the event.

Refreshments will be on sale by EarthStrong. The evening begins with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. Keisha Monique’s book launch and exhibition at 8 p.m. followed by Ian Kamau’s album launch at 9 p.m. (CDs and other merchandise will be available for sale). Contribution: $10-$15 sliding scale. Please keep in mind that this is an ALL-AGES event and there is no alcholol being served. HipHopCanada will be on hand to cover the event.
