Kardinal Talks African Famine on George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight [News]
Toronto, ON – Hunger haunts the Horn of Africa, but World Vision is working to alleviate the suffering. Recently, World Vision President Dave Toycen was in East Africa with Kardinal Offishall. The four part series on the trip aired on ETalk and they’ll be in the red chair on George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight, Tuesday, November 28th to tell us about what they saw and how you can help. (Audience call-time is 3:30pm at the CBC Building, 25 John Street Toronto. Email email@example.com to reserve free tickets!)
“This trip changed my life,” says Kardinal, according to cnw.ca. “I saw kids along the Kenya/Somalia border, five years and under, with nothing to eat, no water and not even a place to live.”
In October, Kardi witnessed first hand the devastating lack of resources in the region. He is one in a line of socially conscious Canadian artists such as K’Naan who are actively raising awareness on the tragedy killing tens of thousands of children and hundreds of thousands of people in the Horn of Africa. Kardinal also recently performed at “We Day,” a day-long event that ignites a year-long program for change, called We Schools in Action. Click the jump for more pictures of Kardinal in Africa.
