Melanie Fiona wins big at 54th Grammy Awards [News]
Los Angeles, CA – The 54th Annual Grammy Awards went down last night and they were largely somber due to the death of 48-year-old music legend Whitney Houston. Despite the tragic event, the show went on and the winners were announced. Toronto artist Drake had several nominations but unfortunately Kayne West got the better of him in each category. Kanye and Jay-Z’s “Otis” beat out Nicki Minaj’s “Money 4 Life” featuring Drake in the Best Rap Performance category while Kanye’s “All Of The Lights” beat out “I’m On One” (DJ Khaled featuring Drake) and “What’s My Name?” (Rihanna featuring Drake) in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category.
The big Canadian urban winner for the night was R&B singer and song writer Melanie Fiona who took home 2 Grammys for her “Fool For You” collaboration with Cee Lo Green. The song won in the Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best R&B Song categories. Congrats to Melanie and all of the winners/nominees.
