A Quick Minute with Noreaga [Interview]

Vancouver, B.C. – In between puffing blunts, downing Stellas and rocking the crowd at Fortune Sound, N.O.R.E spared a few minutes to chat with HipHopCanada’s KassKills about the highly anticipated release of S.U.P.E.R.T.H.U.G., who’s hot in the game and why he loves Vancity.

Noreaga

“Vancouver’s my favorite…The weed is great, the atmosphere is excellent, beautiful city, wonderful food, I’m impressed.”

HipHopCanada: So, you’re working on S.U.P.E.R.T.H.U.G now and we already know you have some big collabs on that album. Can you say who’s been your favorite to work with?

N.O.R.E:  S.U.P.E.R.T.H.U.G ain’t finished yet so that would be unfair for me to say who is my favorite. I don’t want to say yet but when it’s done I could give you a fair answer.

HipHopCanada: How does a seasoned artist stay relevant as the hip-hop landscape continues to change?

N.O.R.E: I just work with newer artists. Like, I got a new single comin’ out with Waka Flocka. Working with Game, Busta. I got this new single with Meek Mills and Pusha-T. I like working with new guys, it’s not a problem.

Noreaga

HipHopCanada: Who are some of the newer artists you see coming up right now?

N.O.R.E: I like French Montana, I like Action Bronson, I like Meek Mills. Yup.

HipHopCanada: Favorite city while on tour?

N.O.R.E: Vancouver’s my favorite. Look, I’m Vancity’d out. *refers to hat and hoodie. I love it. The weed is great, the atmosphere is excellent, beautiful city, wonderful food, I’m impressed.

HipHopCanada: Whats next?

N.O.R.E: Got some tracks coming up with Red1. We just finishing the S.U.P.E.R.T.H.U.G movie that is coming out with the album. I’m fifty percent done with that but when I get back to America I’ll get back to shooting and working on that.

HipHopCanada: Thanks!

Noreaga

Amalia Judith was born in Winnipeg, MB and quickly whisked away to a childhood of travel throughout California, England, Germany and predominantly Pakistan. In 2006 she completed an honor's degree in English Literature, which left her quite jobless and alone in East Van. Amalia cut her teeth at abortmag.com, Canada's darkest counter-culture magazine, moving on to contribute words and flicks to HipHopCanada: she's currently the Western Canadian Editor and has had the privilege to interview hip-hop icons like Lil' Kim, Drake, Dead Prez, Big Boi, Pharrell Williams and half of Wu-Tang. Amalia also works as a Key Worker educator and advocate for families affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, as well as heading up Team Heartbreak, a media production company that pairs community involvement and artistic movements. She'd love to write you the best bio you've ever had or develop your branding strategy - www.teamheartbreak.com for more info.
