#SOTD | T.R.A. – YYZ High [Audio/Video]

Toronto, ON – We’re late on this one but better late than never…actually very annoyed it slipped through the cracks cause the track and video are banging! Born and raised in Toronto, T.R.A. aka Tha Rhyme Animal of The SARS Network developed his passion for hip-hop in the 80′s when his older brother Lemont introduced him to the culture. T.R.A. watched Lemont spin records in their parents basement for hours on end, making mixtapes and cutting demos on a four-track recorder. T.R.A. would be captivated by the music and began studying the four founding elements of lyricism, graffiti, dj’ing and break dancing. Fast forward to 2012 and T.R.A. is now a staple in the Toronto scene having spearheaded one of the largest mixtape movements in the country which has sold over 100,000 CDs independently.

In the “YYZ High” video, T.R.A. is celebrating a daily ritual of his which it also his favorite pass time: smoking weed! T.R.A. gets his hands on a bag of the best marijuana out there and names it YYZ High Kush, cleverly nicknamed after the Toronto Peason International Airport to represent how “High” he gets off the plant. But, whether you smoke marijuana or not, Your sure to get a couple of laughs out of this video! This song was produced by TymE w/ The Quarter Inch Kings and video was directed by Lyme Lyte Video.
