#Throwback | Boogaloo Trybe – A&M [Audio]

Ottawa, ON – We’re introducing our #ThrowbackThursdays series to keep classic/older Canadian hip-hop alive. It forces us to reference and spread the history of Canadian hip-hop once a week, at the very least. The first track we’re featuring is key because it was a tune I was bumping regularly back in 1999 as HipHopCanada was just being born. “A&M” by Ottawa’s Boogaloo Trybe was one of the first Canadian hip-hop releases I purchased after moving back to Canada from a brief stint down south. It was a huge inspiration for HipHopCanada’s birth.

The song was recorded at Ottawa’s infamous Swapp Studios by Goggs, who years later would become instrumental in Belly’s Revolution double-disc debut. Check out “A&M” after the jump. Shouts to Jugga, Mantis and the rest of the Boogaloo Trybe fam.
