Toronto, ON – The 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards went down last complete with live performances by Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Flo Rida and many more big names. They also found some time to hand out a few awards. Canadian hip-hop did NOT walk away empty handed! First, Drake won the MuchVIBE Hip-Hop Video Of The Year for his single “The Motto” featuring Lil Wayne and Tyga. Hopefully with that win we can also officially retire the use of the word ‘yolo’ by the sheep masses who were first introduced to the acronym via the song. C’mon people, overkill on that one! But I digress.

Another winner we should mention is Canadian director Marc André Debruyne for his work on the Danny Fernandes video “Hit Me Up” featuring Josh Ramsay and Belly. Debruyne won for Director of the Year. Click the jump for the entire winners list, or to watch “The Motto” and “Hit Me Up” videos.
