SonReal – Good News

This young artist has independently put all eyes on him through consistently putting out interesting, innovative material, for his ever- expanding fanbase. His earliest release, Good Morning (2008) was a quality record that solidified a foundation for him to continue making great music in Canada. The album developed SonReal as an artist to be taken seriously in not only Canada though, but across the globe.

July 2nd, 2010, he released his third studio project entitled, The Lightyear Mixtape. Having recorded the 18-track project in a four month period, this new artists motivation and constant drive lead him to achieving independent success on an international scale. The Lightyear Mixtape radiated across Canada and it’s lead single, “Already There” featuring Rich Kidd was the driving force behind it.

Words I Said is a preview of his highly anticipated album, Good News which is available this Summer. Good News is the result of creative collaboration with producers including: Arthur McArthur (Drake, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Tyga), Chin Injeti (Eminem, Dr Dre) and Rich Kidd (Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Jay Electronica, Busta Rhymes). The album also features verses from such artists as Saigon, Emilio Rojas, Rapper Pooh of Little Brother and more. Being his best work to date, Good News is destined to turn heads in the U.S. and solidify him as one of the industries hottest up and comers.

Natasha was born and raised in Toronto. She graduated from York University almost 2 years ago and since then has co-founded a youth led, social enterprise called The Next Edition which uses media and art to engage youth with their community. For the past year and a half she has been working with young aspiring artists who are looking for a way to showcase their skills and have their voice heard. With juggling weekly meetings, managing a website, and planning events for hundreds of people Natasha takes refuge in urban music. Researching and knowing the latest headlines, and newest tracks in the hip-hop world is something that she loves. But more importantly for her hip-hop is a lot more than just a genre of music, it is a culture and it has shaped who she is today. Finding a way to combine her passion for music, the knowledge she has gained from working with young people and the issues she has seen in the community is a goal Natasha would like to achieve in the near future. Recently, Natasha has taken on PR work for rappers and DJs.
