Peter Jackson joins D-Block; preps for mixtape with DJ Whoo Kid [News]
Toronto, ON – Ask around and a lot of people will tell you that Peter Jackson is one of the hardest working artists in Canada. From constantly putting out new music and touring, and bringing an endless amount of top American talent to Canadian soil, Peter Jackson’s reputation has been building steadily on both sides of the border. As of late, Peter, or PJ to many, has teamed up with Karl Wolf for the “#1 Fan” single they’re currently promoting.
Meanwhile, quietly in the background, PJ is preparing for his debut as the newest official member of the D-Block team. That’s right, D-Block’s Sheek Louch, Styles P and Jadakiss have co-signed the young artist and officially welcomed him into the fold not to long ago. Things first came together as Peter prepared to embark on a Canadian tour with Sheek and Wu-Tang’s Ghostface Killah:
“I met Sheek Louch right before I toured across Canada wtih him and Ghostface. We did a record and a video, and just got tight on tour. He liked what I was doing and wanted to help me. I then went to Yonkers in New York and recorded again with him — and met Styles and Jada. Then I toured across the country with Styles and Sheek, where they brought me on stage every night to do one of the tracks that’s on this Welcome to D-Block tape.” [More]
The Welcome to D-Block mixtape, which will be hosted by the infamous DJ Whoo Kid, will mark PJ’s official debut as a member of the squad. While the release date is a bit unclear at the moment, HipHopCanada has been provided with some initial details on what to expect:
“Welcome to D-Block features D-Block on 4 to 5 exclusive records with me, and another 30-40 tracks featuring me rapping over classic D-Block records.”
In asking about his developing relationship with his new Yonkers cohorts:
“Sheek has been looking out for me ever since, kinda like a father figure in the game. And me and Styles get along because we both smoke so much trees [Laughing].
