Royalty Radio – Power Circle (Under 20 Cypher) [Video]

Toronto, ON – With nothing but a beat and a mic, 7 young talented rappers, all hailing from Toronto and under the age of 20, came together on August 14th at Royalty Radio for a freestyle cypher.

I seriously enjoyed this; there’s nothing better than watching artists in their rawest form. One of the artists featured in the cypher was John River and during our conversation about it he emphasized the fact that “it’s nice to see the unification of young talent” and I completely agree with him. I also think our city needs to showcase the talent that breeds here more often. Watch out the footage below! You can check out Royalty Radio every Tuesday from 8-10 p.m. on 91.9FM or stream it online at and

Tune into Royalty Radio Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. EST. The team consists of DJ Andre 905, Drega, Paco, CEO FA$E and E. Williams. More details about each team member can be found below:

DJ Andre 905

DJ Andre 905 is more than a DJ but a music connoisseur. He has started to rise in the ranks of the ever growing talent pool of DJs from Canada. He is the official DJ for the #1 college radio show in Canada called Royalty Radio. Along with spinning every Tuesday on Royalty Radio, he has spun at numerous clubs around the Toronto area such as the Hard Rock Cafe, Suba Lounge, Seven Nightclub, Blue Moon, etc. He has also deejayed for organizations such as the ICICI Bank, Canada Revenue Agency, King Of The Dot, etc.

He makes sure to provide a unique experience for the listener – whether you are on the dancefloor or at home listening. He has deejayed for numerous local Toronto artists such as Angerville, Tommy Spitz, Anime Boyz, etc. He is the official DJ for recording artist Drega. He recently joined up with DJ BW to become apart of the Diamond Cut Soundcrew. You can catch DJ Andre ripping it up on the 1s and 2s every Tuesday night from 8 to 10 pm ET live on

By September 2007, Drega had developed a following within the urban-South Asian scene but wanted to expand his base as well as his skill set. The opportunity came when in September 2007, Toronto’s own Dj Andre 905 asked him to join the radio show he was starting called Royalty Radio. “One thing I knew about Drega is that he is a comedian and can talk about anything, I knew he would be an entertaining co-host”, Dj Andre 905 says about choosing Drega for his radio show. Having been a radio host for the last two years gave Drega the opportunity to meet many popular as well as up and coming artists. Having interviewed rappers such as Famous, Shane Stirling, Tona, Erik Flowchild, J.B., Mayhem Morearty, JD Era, and Gangis Khan aka Camoflauge (to name a few) exposed Drega to the personalities in the Toronto scene. “As an interviewer, I would just ask questions I wanted to know as an up and coming artist; luckily I got to disguise it behind the veil of an ‘interview’. I got to really see how certain artists developed their careers and saw where others we’re lacking. I also would jump in after their freestyle set on air to show off my skills and most of the time I would hold my own,” says Drega.

Although he knew it was likely, it was unknown what Paco’s personal involvement in the music industry would be. Born In Toronto, Canada, but raised in the suburbs, Paco (born Jeff Pastor) was always subjected to music in his Peruvian household. While he attempted to delve into instrument playing in middle school, he quickly learned that his passion for music was more in the business end of things. Being a fan of hip-hop and R&B since the early 90’s, Paco’s interests fell on the back of end of most musical acts. In high school, he occasionally promoted for concert and club events in and around the city, but always felt he could become more involved in the industry elsewhere. It wasn’t until his final year at college that Paco was approached by a fellow colleague to become a part of concert production company. After producing several shows around the city of Toronto, over the course of two years, Paco reconnected with Jama and Deezy, whom had ventured to become a production team called theSHOWBOIZ.

If one thinks of Urban entrepreneurs/culture connoisseurs, the names of Russell Simmons, Dame Dash, Jay-Z, P. Diddy, etc. are brought up. You can look to add CEO Fase to this list in the coming years. CEO Fase is well known for being the manager for emerging superstar, JD Era. He is also known as the C.E.O of the Black Market Music Group. He is a visionary and branding specialist. His creative ideas have helped establish JD Era and the Black Market Music Group as viable brands. More than understanding the business of music, CEO Fase has an ear for talent. He constantly is on the search for talent. As a result, he was able to broker his own label deal with Universal Music Group. He looks to help grow Urban Music in Canada and to make it a viable marketplace respected worldwide. To Fase, it is all about timing and execution and about understanding the direction that music is heading and to always remain a step ahead.

He was added to the Royalty Radio team in October 2009 and has been a mainstay ever since. His industry insight has helped to educate listeners on the ins and outs of the music business. Tune into Royalty Radio every week to hear CEO Fase speak on the science of the game.
