Classified signs deal with Universal for next album and label [News]
Luke “Classified” Boyd has inked a new deal with Univeral for his 2012 album and his own imprint, Half Life Records. Details in the press release below:
Toronto, ON – Universal Music Canada (UMC), the country’s leading music company is pleased to announce that they have entered into an exclusive label deal with acclaimed rapper Classified and his Half Life Records imprint. The deal was announced today by Classified and Universal Music Canada President & CEO, Randy Lennox.

Hailing from Enfield, Nova Scotia, Classified has been an integral part of the Canadian hip hop scene for upwards of 17 years. 2011’s Handshakes and Middle Fingers marked his 14th studio album and his various releases have garnered a combined 18 nominations and 8 wins at the MuchMusic Video Awards, Juno Awards and East Coast Music Awards.
Classified writes and produces all of his own music and has performed on countless national tours with such superstars as: Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, The Game, Nelly, NaS, The Black Eyed Peas, Black Moon, Hedley and Wu-Tang to name a few.
