Drake to appear on Kendrick Lamar’s album debut [News]
Compton, CA – A ton of people were thrilled to see Kendrick Lamar on Take Care, the sophomore album from Drake, but slightly disappointed that the appearance wasn’t an actual collaboration. Of course, Take Care wouldn’t be the same without Kendrick’s “Buried Alive Interlude” but there’s enough demand to see the two artists pair up for a record.
On October 22nd, that demand will finally be supplied as Kendrick prepares for the release of his album debut, Good kid, m.A.A.d city. On the album, Kendrick and Drizzy collaborate on “Poetic Justice,” a song that samples “Anytime, Anyplace” by Janet Jackson. The song will surely become a fan favourite and a video for the tune has already been announced. So far, Kendrick has released 2 singles off the project. The first was “The Recipe,” which features production and vocals from Dr. Dre, and the second single to be released was “Swimming Pools (Drank),” produced by Toronto’s own T-Minus. Other confirmed appearances include Mary J. Blige and Lady Gaga. Stay tuned – we’ll post “Poetic Justice” as soon as we can get our hands on it.
Kendrick Lamar performs in Toronto tonight at Sound Academy with Ab-Soul and Jay Rock.
