FACTOR’s Video Program submission deadline is Dec. 13 [News]

Toronto, ON – Just over 10 days until the next deadline for FACTOR’s Video Program. The Video Program was created to help fund original music videos by Canadian artists (that meet FACTOR’s distribution criteria. They offer grant support in 2 different video categories including Viral Video and Standard Video Grant. Definitely worth applying for because if you get approved for a Viral Video you can get up to 75% of your budget covered up to a maximum of $5,000. For the Standard Video Grant, the coverage is also 75% but the max is $20,000. Be sure to click the jump for more details.

FACTOR, The Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings, continues to play a huge support system for the growth of Canadian hip-hop. Just this past November several people were given support: The Weeknd, Marco Polo, Omar LinX, D-Sisive & Rob the Viking, Promise, Abstract Artform, D.O., ZZbra and many more. Basically, don’t just assume that you’re not a good fit for FACTOR – you might just be losing out on financial support! December 13th is plenty of time to get an application submitted.

About FACTOR’s Video Program


The Video Program (“VI Program”) was developed to help finance original music videos that support sound recordings by Canadian Artists. Those sound recordings must meet FACTOR’s distribution criteria set out herein.

The VI Program is comprised of two streams of funding for either a Viral Video (“Viral Video Grant”) or a Standard Music Video (“Standard Video Grant”), each of which has different eligibility requirements as set out in the Applicant Eligibility section.

A Viral Video Grant can be used to help pay for lower-budget music videos and may provide a grant of up to 75% of Total Eligible Budget to a project maximum of $5000. A Standard Video Grant may provide a grant of up to 75% of the Total Eligible Budget to a project maximum of $20,000.

Assessment will take six to eight weeks from the Application Deadline.

Funding for this program is provided by Canada’s Private Radio Broadcasters and the Department of Canadian Heritage’s Canada Music Fund’s New Musical Works Component.
