T-Minus on why Lady Gaga wasn’t on Kendrick Lamar’s album [News]
Toronto, ON – Back before the release of Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city album, there was a lot of talk that there would be a guest appearance from pop star Lady Gaga. The album dropped without the track, “Partynauseous,” but no indication as to why it was missing. Now Sowmya Krishnamurthy of MTVHive has an answer from the song’s producer, Ajax, Ontario’s own T-Minus:
“From what I understand, it seemed like they [Gaga’s camp] had a direction they wanted to go in and Kendrick and I had a different direction. It just so happened that it didn’t go through. All parties have to agree. I saw it as a great opportunity for Kendrick to get a record from Gaga but if they can’t make that approval then hey, it can’t go through. But the beat is hot as fuck. I promise you.”
In the interview, T-Minus also avoids speaking about Drake’s new album in too much detail but it’s clear the 24-year-old producer is working closely with Drizzy on the project. He also avoids questions about appearing on Jay-Z’s next album but does confirm new collaborations with the likes of Big Sean and Pusha T. He wraps it up by stating he’d like to work with fellow-Canadian Justin Bieber. Click here to read Sowmya’s interview in full.
T-Minus is featured on T.I.’s new album, Trouble Man: Heavy In The Head, which dropped today.
