Drake uses Instagram for orders to cease and desist [News]
Toronto, ON – Drake has turned to the popular social networking app, Instagram, in hopes of shutting down some business that has not been co-signed.
A day after posting a photo on Instagram of a shot glass with “You Only Live Once” on it found in a St. Maarten gift shop, Drake posted two more photos putting Walgreens and Macy’s on blast. It turns out that the department stores have been selling merchandise with the rapper’s popular acronym “YOLO”, and Champagne Papi isn’t too pleased about it. Check out the Instagram photos and the rest of the story after the jump.
YOLO was thrown into street slang after Drake’s album Take Care was released back in 2011. The acronym for “You Only Live Once” was heard in the hook on the hit song “The Motto”.
The first photo posted was taken in Walgreens of a display of 2 for $12.00 “YOLO” embroidered fitteds. The caption read:
“Walgreens…you gotta either chill or cut the cheque.”
That photo was followed by a second taken in Macy’s of a t-shirt with Peanut Gang characters that read, “YOLO is my motto.” The intended message was clear:
“Macy’s…same goes for you.”
Now the only question is: Will they stop selling these items in fear of potential issues to come, or is YOLO really their motto?
