Classified, Ghettosocks & more on !earshot National Hip-Hop Chart [News]

Toronto, ON – !earshot, the national campus and community radio report, has six Canadians in the Top 10 of their National Hip-Hop Chart. For the week ending Tuesday, February 26, 2013, Classified moves up 3 to take the #1 spot in the chart, followed by Ghettosocks moving down a notch to #3 with his acclaimed We’re Gonna Drink A Lot Of Wine This Year, Boys album. Parallel by Elaquent remains at #5 while Myka 9 & Factor Sovereign Soul’s debuts in the #6 spot. Theo3′s Airplane Over One Way Streets made its debut at #7 while Jai Nitai Lotus dropped down a couple to #10 for Something You Feel. Click the jump for the full Top 10.

In earshot!’s National Top 50 Chart, grouping all genres together, only 2 from the National Hip-Hop Chart made the list. Classified’s album is down at spot to take #41 but Elaquent’s Parallel album coming through URBNET is up 5 spots to slide in at #38. That can seem a bit confusing since Class is higher on the hip-hop chart but we’ve reached out to earshot! for clarification. In the meantime, we’re going to speculate that it’s based on the amount of sources reporting and that Elaquent’s project is instrumental based, which has it charting within other genres as well.
