Humber: Drake’s voice puts focus on gun violence in Toronto [Article]

Toronto, ONHumber News correspondent Jenifer Alvarez takes a closer look at the new Snoop Lion (Snoop Dogg’s new nickname, if you didn’t know) which features Drake speaking out on gun violence. “No Guns Allowed,” which also features Cori B, has Drake mentioning the tragic Danzig Street BBQ shooting that took place in Scarborough last summer. For the article, Alvarez sought out the opinions of various members of the industry, including HipHopCanada’s own Central Editor, Natasha Paolini.

“Natasha Paolini, central editor for HipHopCanada.com in Toronto, one of the nation’s largest urban music brands, said Graham is doing something good by reminding the public of the importance of addressing gun violence in Toronto.

Paolini also said Graham is driving home the message that the impact this kind of violence has had a deep effect on communities, individuals and the public outside of the Danzig community should continue talking about the issue.”

HipHopCanada’s @Blvcklghts posted “No Guns Allowed” yesterday so click here to check it out.
