Regina, SK – As the JUNO Awards week comes to an end, hip-hop fans who are unable to attend the awards ceremony on Sunday can still get a good dose of JUNO fever at several events around the province of Saskatchewan—you may even get to meet some of your favourite Canadian hip-hoppers. Click the jump for some of the do-not-miss events happening over the next few days.

JUNO Awards 2013: Where to meet your favourite hip-hoppers [News]

On Friday and Saturday, various venues in Regina and Moose Jaw play host to some of our favourite up-and-comers and seasoned JUNO-nominee pros. JUNOfest wristbands allow priority access to all participating venues throughout JUNOfest. We’re looking forward to performances by Ace Massive, Classified, Def 3, JD Era, Kayo, Pimpton, Quake and nominee duo SonReal and Rich Kidd. Wristbands are $30 each and can be purchased on Ticketmaster. A full schedule for JUNOfest is available here.

On Saturday at 7:30 p.m., the first installation of the JUNO Cup goes down at Mosaic Place in Moose Jaw. In support of charities MusiCounts and the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS), NHL players face off against the JUNO nominees in an athletic competition that, let’s face it, would only ever happen in Canada. Classified is slated to compete in the event, though—so here’s hoping he unleashes his “inner ninja” and pulls a whammy on the hockey players. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at

JUNO Fan Fare

The popular meet-and-greet JUNO Fan Fare takes place on Saturday and runs from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Cornwall Centre in Regina. For three hours, fans can swoon over their favourite artists and chum it up with host T-RexXx from MuchMusic’s RapCity. JD Era will be at the Fan Fare, so please take a photo with him and send it our way—he is, hands down, one of the best-looking Canadian MCs out there right now.

JUNO Songwriters’ Circle

On Sunday afternoon from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m., the annual Songwriters’ Circle takes place at the Casino Regina Show Lounge. Along with several other key music industry players, Classified performs and shares anecdotes with host Tom Cochrane. Tickets are $30 – $40 and can be purchased on TicketBreak. Everyone else can tune in to the show on for an on-demand stream and the event will be broadcast in a two-part special on CBC Radio 2, Monday Apr. 22 and Tuesday Apr. 23 at 7:00 p.m. EST (7:30 p.m. in Newfoundland). CBC Radio One will broadcast highlights from the event on April 26 at 2:00 p.m. EST (2:30 p.m. in Newfoundland).
