Tam – Spend the Night ft. Jo Thrillz [Video]
Edmonton, AB – Malawi-born, Edmonton-raised MC Tam recently collaborated with fellow Edmontonian rapper Jo Thrillz for his new track, “Spend the Night.” In praise of one-night-stands, casual hookups, and sleepovers that involve very little sleeping, Tam’s new tune is perfect for “something that’s fast, quick, and fun.” The track starts off with an encouraging verse from Jo Thrillz: “You’re trying to build something beautiful – but— but it’s not worth it, man.” Then Tam takes the lead with carefully crafted rhymes and a ballsy politically-charged chorus line, “I’ll be Cheney if you’ll be Bush.” Check it out below.
Tam currently resides in Europe and splits his time between professional soccer playing and rapping. He was born in Malawi but moved to Canada when he was six years old. At the age of 16, Tam moved—by himself—to Europe to pursue a career in the professional soccer circuit. He started at the Energie Cottbus youth soccer club in East Germany and eventually wound up in Norway awaiting a deal to play at the Real Betis club in Seville. Unfortunately, the deal was left pending and Tam found himself without a job. But his girlfriend encouraged him to pursue a career in the music industry, and 14 years later, Tam is living the sweet life— a soccer star by day, and an urban musician by night.
