Dedos releases Beastie Boys artwork in Hip-Hop Icons series [News]
Vancouver, BC – Legendary B-boy and artist Dedos has been working on his Hip-Hop Icons series for a minute – pictures of Public Enemy, Eric B and Rakim and Maestro Fresh Wes are already in circulation. His latest masterpiece pays homage to the Beastie Boys, and Dedos says of the piece, “I figured with the recent death of MCA it would be a good time to remember them in this light… as with all these artists I’m doing it’s really as reminder of that golden era during the late 80’s through the 90’s.” According to the artist, “I thoroughly research all my pieces, and will hunt for the details of things like Ad Rock’s tee shirt. A lot I use from memory when I was a kid and I still have old books with these artists in them that I can reference.” Want a print?
