Lil Wayne: Drake to take Mannie Fresh’s spot on Big Tymers album [News]

New Orleans, LA – Along with the Rich Gang: Flashy Lifestyle compilation Birdman is presenting on May 21, the Cash Money CEO has his sights set on a new Big Tymers LP. The planning stages for the album are currently in the works but you’ll be disappointed if you’re expecting Mannie Fresh to be involved. After Lil Wayne brought it up last week, Birdman confirmed Wednesday on MTV’s RapFix Live that Fresh would have nothing to do with the project despite being an original Big Tymers member.

Birdman: “No. Nah. Not at all.

Instead, Fresh will be replaced by 3 new members including Lil Wayne, Stunna and Drake. Big Tymers, originally Birdman and Mannie Fresh, released their debut LP, How You Luv That, in 1998. Their last release was Big Money Heavyweight in 2003. Fresh left Cash Money not long after over internal money disputes.

Drake is apparently gung-ho about getting started and has already started hunting for suitable tunes:

You can’t even tell him an idea,” Wayne told MTV of Drake. “I just told him that we were thinking about it, and he just hit me and said, ‘We’re lookin’ for some music today.'”
