SonReal & Rich Kidd reach No. 1 on Rap City charts with “Hometown” [News]
Toronto, ON – It’s only early Wednesday but it’s safe to say The Closers will consider this a good week. Their Arthur McArthur-produced single “Hometown” is nominated for a MuchMusic Video Award and the video is now #1 on Rap City’s charts. The video was directed by Liam Mitchell for Mad Ruk Entertainment and has become a perfect symbol for The Closers movement.
SonReal and Rich Kidd burned through a respectable sized national tour with ease and created legions of new fans along the way. Their media coverage has increased significantly and the blogs are getting new releases up as quick as they can get their hands on them. SonReal has been a staple in the Vancouver scene for several years now and Rich has long been considered one of Toronto’s next to blow. No doubt the pair have benefited from the coast-to-coast alliance while fans have benefited by receiving an excellent project in The Closers. The pair already received a nomination for Rap Recording of the Year at this year’s JUNOs and they stand a good chance at winning their MMVA nod.
If you’re late to the party you can pick it up on iTunes now… better late than never!
