Started from the bottom… there’s always next year, Leafs’ fans [News]
Toronto, ON – Drake was one of many Canadians cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs as they took on the Boston Bruins in the first round of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. While the team ultimately lost the series last night in Game 7, there’s a great feeling of hope for a successful run next season. The team is full of young talent who only stand to benefit from the hard fought playoff experience they’ve picked up in the last 2 weeks. It was the first time since 2004 that the team had secured a playoff berth and the team came within a goal of advancing to the next round against a tough opponent. Started from the bottom… now they’re here! There’s certainly plenty to be hopeful for.
As you might have seen on Sunday, Drizzy tweeted in support of the Leafs a couple of times during the game. One generic show of support and another directed at right wing Phil Kessel who scored the winning goal. Most active NHL players have not been tweeting during the playoffs (NHL social media policy dictates no tweeting on game day) so Leafs centre Nazem Kadri waited until today to thank fans for the support… including Drake.
At this point there’s only one Canadian team left in the playoffs so on that note, GO SENS GO!
GO LEAFS GO!!! YOU CAN’T SHAKE THE TREE!!! #TORONTOMAPLELEAFS
