Aries – New Beginnings [Album]

Saskatoon, SK – Saskatchewan music producer Jon “Aries” Cennon recently dropped his second studio album, New Beginnings. The album features collaborations with some of Canada’s favourite hip-hop personalities including Moka Only, Def 3, Selfhelp, and more. All songs were written and performed by the featured artists and production cuts were contributed by Just Jay, Merky Waters and DJ Heywood. Aries has a simplistic old-school style of production and admittedly still uses an old MPC 2000XL drum machine, records, and live instrumentals for his beats. Check out the album after the jump.

New Beginnings was initially scheduled for release in December 2012 in response to the “end of the world” hype. “It wasn’t going to be the end of the world, but a new beginning,” said Cennon. “Some people are losing faith in humanity and the things we, as humans, are doing to destroy our planet. Reminding people of this may have some positive impact on people—making changes and trying to help make the world a better place.”
