HipHopCanada presents: #letsREbuild in support of Calgary flood relief [News]

Calgary, ABHipHopCanada has teamed up with our friends at 10 at 10 Hip-Hop Showcase, Twotowers Entertainment, Ill Movements, Netcandi.com, One Entertainment, Dubsac, Pulse Studios, TheGroove.ca, and Paper Crown to bring you #letsREbuild charity fundraiser in support of Calgary’s flood relief efforts. “Let’s REbuild was derived from local hip-hop event 10 at 10’s mantra, Let’s Build. From its inception, this slogan has been used to inspire the growth of the hip-hop community in Calgary,” explains Beni Johnson, local hip-hop promoter and 10 at 10 organizer.

“This term can have many applications, however, the choice to use ‘REbuild’ for this fundraiser emphasizes the fact that Calgary is already a strong community and with the help of willing people we can rebuild the lost homes and facilities that were affected by the unprecedented flooding in Southern Alberta.” [More]

It all goes down tomorrow night at 8 p.m. at Commonwealth Bar & Stage (733 – 10 Ave SW). The guys at Commonwealth have graciously offered up the venue, despite being closed on Saturday due to power outages. Get ready for performances by Transit, New’L & Dirty Harry, Humble Giants, Obey the Crooks, A.Y.E., Nerds In Cool Clothing, Dragon Fli Empire and special guests. There will also be a 7-smoke breakdance competition, beat battle, MC cyphers, after party DJs, a silent auction and much more.

A minimum donation of $10 is required at the door. All proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross to help rebuild the community. So drop on by and say hi to @saroshrizvi and @IHeartTART and enjoy the company of your favourite local hip-hop heads for a good cause. We are uniting on all fronts to do what we do best: good music and good times.
