About Hugo Kafumbi
Hugo Kafumbi (born August 11, 1992) is a Congolese/Canadian rapper. Hugo was born in Lubumbashi, Congo DRC. As a teenager, Hugo attended the Lubumbashi School for the Arts in Congo where he took dance classes, and music theory. While living in Congo, he discovered rap and began to put his life experiences on paper and transforming them into rhymes. His entire family is still living in Congo and that is his motivation to keep working hard on his music. At the age of 14, Hugo moved to the Czech Republic to complete his high school education. He spent five years studying there until he got kicked out, six months before his high school graduation. Hugo moved to Canada to establish himself as an artist and a rapper. He recorded his first single “The Messiah (Remix)” in the city of Victoria and grew a fan base out of it. Living in Victoria wasn’t going as well as Hugo had planned so he moved to Vancouver to continue his rap career. Currently in Vancouver, Hugo is working on projects with local artists and is in the process of recording his debut mixtape.
