A big week in Calgary hip-hop [Contest]

Calgary, AB – Hey y’all. You know it’s summer time in the city and that always means more and more going on in our city. Us good folks at HipHopCanada want to keep you up on everything Calgary hip-hop and even help you check everything that we’ve got going on, because it is going to be a MONSTER week! Check out details on the shows and how you just might even be able to get in for free after the jump.

A Big Week in Calgary Hip-Hop [Contest] -

We start the week off with JLive rocking the Hifi Club on Monday night! He’ll be bringing that throwback NYC flow up north and will be accompanied by local monsters, the Humble Giants. It’s J-Live’s first show in Calgary in ages, so be sure not to miss out on some true hip hop roots. Check in for for the show here.

Two more shows kickoff on Friday, with Joey Bada$$ and Statik Selektah doing two shows – an all ages show at the Alibi Room during the day capped off by a show the same night at Dickens. Hip-hop heads and those plugged into the underground scene are fully geeked about this one already.  For all details of the show and how to get tickets, check  here. We gotta give you a little extra too… tag me @SaroshRizvi and @HipHopCanada with #CalgaryJoeyBadass to skip everything and get in for free!

The next day, we have the beatbox King himself, Rahzel coming through the YYC. We’ve been hyping this show for a minute but trust me he won’t be snowed in NYC this time round. The show will be topped off with beatbox and hip-hop showcases showing off the best of what our city’s got to offer!  Check here for the latest details. Just because we kept you waiting on that, we’ll do our best to hook you up on that front too, tag me @SaroshRizvi and @hiphopcanada with #BeatBoxKing to win!

There’s only one way to set the mood properly for what the weekend has in store for the city. 10 at 10 will be on and live on Thursday as only it can. We don’t even need to hook you up to get in, because the best regular hip-hop event in the city – and let’s be real, one of the best hip-hop events this city has ever had – keeps it free 99 and brings the best out of all the urban arts in the city.  They just might be able to hook you up with some access to all the shows we’ve been talking about too.

Keep it locked right here for what’s going on. As always.
