Canada’s Rap Prime Minister Maestro addresses the nation for Canada Day [News]
Toronto, ON – Twenty-five years since beginning his groundbreaking career, Maestro Fresh Wes makes his triumphant return this week with the release of Orchestrated Noise, his first full-length in over a decade. The Winnipeg Sun says “he hasn’t lost his touch on his seventh disc. Between his nimble rhymes and sharp lyrics and symphonic touches, the Godfather of Canadian Hip-Hop makes you an offer you shouldn’t refuse.”
To celebrate Canada Day, Maestro Fresh Wes delivers his address to the nation with a new video for “Black Trudeau,” a track that as the Toronto Star says “speaks the truth: he was Canada’s first domestic rap music breakthrough.” Last year hip hop fans in Toronto were given a taste of the track when Wes was invited on stage by hip hop legends Public Enemy. The crowd went wild and Chuck D fell to the floor in awe as Maestro delivered rhymes about former Prime Minister Jean Chrétien and Toronto Mayor Rob Ford.

“Today is the day we reflect on how great our nation really is. We are truly awesome. From Malvern to Manitoba, from the Prairies to the Rockies, from the North West Territories to North Preston, we are one! This is a throw down. Let us all celebrate.
If you’re in a safe area, I would like you to hug a stranger and tell them “Happy Canada Day!”
God bless you all.
