Day 1 of OVO Fest cancelled due to Frank Ocean’s torn vocal cord [News]

Toronto, ON – Last week in Australia, while crooner Frank Ocean was on tour, he suffered an injury to his vocal cord which forced him to cancel the rest of his tour. From that time until now there has been lots of speculations that this may affect his headlining performance on the first day of Drake’s annual OVO Fest. Today, we learned through Live Nation that day 1 is now being cancelled. British singer James Blake was also scheduled to perform on the August 4th date but has now been added to the second day on Monday, August 5th where he will join Drake, Wale and other special guests. All August 4th ticket holders will be able to get a full refund on their tickets.

From Live Nation

“Live Nation regrets to announce that as a result of Frank Ocean’s recent vocal injury, the first night (August 4th) of the sold-out OVO Fest at Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Toronto has been cancelled. Artist James Blake has been added to the sold-out August 5th show.

Researching and knowing the latest headlines, and newest tracks in the hip-hop world is something that she loves. But more importantly for her hip-hop is a lot more than just a genre of music, it is a culture and it has shaped who she is today. Finding a way to combine her passion for music, the knowledge she has gained from working with young people and the issues she has seen in the community is a goal Natasha would like to achieve in the near future. Recently, Natasha has taken on PR work for rappers and DJs.
