Gin and Juice: Snoop Lion in Vancouver (Live) [Photos]
Vancouver, BC – Snoop Dogg – aka Snoop Lion – started off incredibly; the dancers were dope and the intro came through with a lot of excitement. Three incredible dancers came out with Snoop, who represented both the past and the present by performing reggae tracks and a great mixture of the old and new school: tracks like “What’s My Name” and “Gin and Juice” flowed alongside the Katy Perry collab “California Girls” and other top 40 tracks – everyone was made happy at one time or another.
Snoop’s performance was certainly enhanced by the participation of Dogg Pound members Daz and Kurupt – “It Ain’t No Fun” gave the crowd a glimpse of a classic track as if it were being performed in the artists’ prime, carrying fond memories of an era passed. Clouds of weed smoke hovered above a sold-out crowd in Stanley Park, Snoop staying true to his weed advocacy roots and the trees sheltering the peoples’ smoking. The atmosphere was relaxed and everybody seemed to be having a good time as they sang along, feeding off the Dogg Pound energy.
Snoop still has it; he doesn’t look like he’s missing a step. He’s got another good ten years to do what he’s doing and it was great that he finished off with the Wiz Khalifa jam “Young Wild and Free” and ended the show like he started – with Snoop Lion.
