Kool G Rap and AZ come to Calgary [News]

UPDATE – Nov. 26, 2013 – True Rhythm has just announced that Kool G Rap has been denied entry into Canada. The show (originally scheduled to go down on Dec. 7) has been cancelled. True Rhythm will be offering refunds at the point of purchase. If you want to read more about rappers getting denied entry into the country, peep this article.

Calgary, AB – Our friends over at True Rhythm just announced that they are bringing Kool G Rap and AZ’s Living Legends Tour to Calgary on Dec. 7. The show goes down at Republik Nightclub (219 – 17 Ave SW), with doors opening at 8 p.m. Advance tickets are $29.99 for general admission and $44.99 for V.I.P., plus service charges. Tickets are available for purchase via TrueRhythm.ca and in stores at The Next Level, Grassroots, Le Rock, or Sloth Records.

Kool G Rap – also known as the Kool Genius of Rap— is one of hip-hop’s most legendary MCs. He’s better known as one half of the Kool G Rap & DJ Polo duo, as well as a member of the Juice Crew. He’s got a signature hardcore style with complex rhyme schemes that have paved the way for so many of the greats. AZ is lesser known, and is incredibly underrated. He’s a frequent collaborator with Nas, and a member of the disbanded super group, The Firm (with Foxy Brown, Cormega, Nature, and – of course— Nas). Watching Kool and AZ will be one of the best throwbacks (or comebacks) ever.
