For Immediate Release:

Toronto homegrown JD Era has made his walk across Canada and the US, embarking journeys so many hope for, but only a few can achieve. Having an authentic sound that is highly respected by some well known industry players, JD Era has truly created a name synonymous to hip hop. In 2012, he was signed to Ice H20 Records, an indie imprint that was newly formed by Raekwon the Chef. He was only a signee, but collaborated with Raekwon on several projects. In 2012, he graced the MMVA’s red carpet, only to step on stage later that night at the NXNE show to perform alongside Raekwon and Ghostface Killah in front of 30,000 people in Toronto The summer of 2013, he collaborated a project that featured him with the legendary Tony Touch, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon and RZA. His mixtape, No Handouts, which featured collaborations with not only Raekwon, but Mac Miller, 9th Wonder, and many others won him a nomination in the 2013 Juno Awards.

It’s only fitting to end an enormous year off with a bang. His newly released freestyle, Wu Tang Forever, pays homage to the Clan in the most respectful and appropriate way possible – by annihilating a beat with lyrics and wordplay that could only be inspired by the pioneers of the game. Crediting some of hip hop’s most well respected artists, he felt it befitting to honor the Wu Tang Clan’s 20th year anniversary during their tour stop in his home town Toronto.

In December he will headline his new project, JD Era and Friends – Do You Know Mary. The seven (7) city tour, starting the first of December and crossing throughout Canada is the first step in welcoming 2014.

Natasha was born and raised in Toronto. She graduated from York University almost 2 years ago and since then has co-founded a youth led, social enterprise called The Next Edition which uses media and art to engage youth with their community. For the past year and a half she has been working with young aspiring artists who are looking for a way to showcase their skills and have their voice heard. With juggling weekly meetings, managing a website, and planning events for hundreds of people Natasha takes refuge in urban music. Researching and knowing the latest headlines, and newest tracks in the hip-hop world is something that she loves. But more importantly for her hip-hop is a lot more than just a genre of music, it is a culture and it has shaped who she is today. Finding a way to combine her passion for music, the knowledge she has gained from working with young people and the issues she has seen in the community is a goal Natasha would like to achieve in the near future. Recently, Natasha has taken on PR work for rappers and DJs.
