Tasha the Amazon – Tru Life [Video]

Toronto, ON – Posted as our Song of the Day back in July, Tasha the Amazon drops off the visuals to her “Tru Life” single. Bassment jams and molotov ruckus: Toronto goes hard. Tasha the Amazon shows us how it’s done and throws down alongside some of the city’s illest party-makers – Family Business, Comeback Season, and more in her latest video, “Tru Life.” Directed, shot and edited by Colin G. Cooper.

Look out for FiDiYootDem, Tasha the Amazon’s debut mixtape set for release on November 12, 2013. The project was produced entirely by Tasha’s production team, Bass & Bakery. Tasha is live at The Rap Party presented by Noisey on Friday, November 15 at Parts & Labour in Toronto (with The 6th Letter, Roney and more). Check out the flyer after the jump.

About Tasha the Amazon

A bomb in a china shop.

Toronto’s Tasha the Amazon is an artist, producer, and bad gyal. Notorious for rude stage antics and warehouse parties shut down by police raids, her unconventional lyrics deal as much with partying, drugs, and hood mischief as they do with anarchy and civil disobedience.

She’s shared the bill with genre-defining acts like the Wu-Tang’s Ghostface Killah and Raekwon, The Roots, Killer Mike and fellow new-school icons like Action Bronson. Behind the boards, her bold production style has already earned her collaborations with the likes of DJ Green Lantern, Grammy-winner Che Vicious (G.O.O.D. Music) and more.

After cutting her teeth in collabs and collectives, the German-Jamaican powerhouse is dropping her first solo project, FiDiYootDem, in Fall 2013.

Produced by herself and partner Danthrax (together, they form the production duo Bass & Bakery), the project experiments unapologetically with the future of hip hop. Meet the new school.
