New’L – The Trap Door [EP]

Calgary, AB – Over the weekend, Calgary’s young stunner, New’L, dropped a sweet new EP entitled The Trap Door. You may have caught a listen to his debut Pay Schemes & Daydreams mixtape when it dropped back in September (if you haven’t listened to it yet, step your game up).

Anyways, PSDD has been roasting up the airwaves and New’L’s fans got a little hungry. So last month, New’L decided to take a bunch of his unreleased singles and put them together into a project. The result is this sweet six-track EP. Check it out below.

New’L – The Trap Door [EP] -

New’L is pushing his boundaries on this one. And it’s super fresh. I’m going to go out on-a-limb here, and say I like it even better than Pay Schemes & Daydreams. If you’re only going to listen to one track off the project, listen to “My World.” New’L takes a beat from V. Don and goes ham on it. And for “Game Over,” New’L chopped up a DJ Khalil beat and looped it to his liking. So he’s not just recycling his beats. He’s refurbishing them to work with his sound. Brilliant.
