Ottawa’s Dillin Hoox releases single with Kurdish star Chopy Fatah [News]
Ottawa, ON – A dedication to motherhood, “Daya Gian” is a new collaboration between Kurdish-Canadian Dillin Hoox and Kurdish singer-songwriter, Chopy Fatah (Kurdish:Çopî Fetah), currently based in The Netherlands. The song is now available for download on iTunes. Both artists have indicated how meaningful the track has become on a personal level, and both have made mention of the supporting music video still to come. Judging by the retweets and shares, there seems to be quite a bit of anticipation for the video’s release amongst Fatah and Hoox supporters alike.
Chopy Fatah, born in Kirkuk, Iraq, is one of the most recognized contemporary Kurdish singers in the world. In 2008, Chopy became an ambassador for Asia Cell, one of the most important Iraqi telecommunications companies, catering to more than 9 million subscribers across the country. She released her first album, Çît Naw Binêm, in 2003 and has released 3 in total. Her first English album is slated for release in 2014.
