10 at 10 Vol. 28 kicks off the New Year in Calgary [News]

Calgary, AB – On Jan. 8, our friends over at 10 at 10 bring back your favourite gathering of the hip-hop heads. That’s right: Vol. 28 of 10 at 10 Hip-Hop Showcase is kicking off your 2014. For those of you who aren’t familiar, 10 performers hit the stage, starting at 10 p.m. They each get 10 minutes to perform a set.

Performers include a mix of MCs, singers, and producers. And –as always– your hosts for the evening will be Beni J and RS Poe, with DJ Rico and DJ GrimRock on the tables. Performers for tomorrow’s event include Ayoo Angie, Cellar Door, Blieve, and more.

Doors open at 9 p.m. and performances begin right at 10 p.m. Admission is $10, but if you arrive before 10 p.m., you don’t have to pay cover. So show up a little bit early, and schmooze around, or something.

The signature 10 at 10 chicken and waffles will also be on deck throughout the night. And by on deck, I mean served up and devoured. This glistening gastronomical collaboration between our 10 at 10 dudes and the folks over at Tubby Dog will give you new life. Trust.

And if you haven’t gotten a chance to peep the new 10 at 10 mixtape, you should probably do that right now.
