Factor & Myka 9 – War With Yourself [Audio]

Saskatoon, SK – HipHopCanada has teamed up with Factor to bring you the Factor Friday’s “Single Series.” At the end of each month in 2014, Saskatoon’s master-producer-at-large will release a new track for our listening pleasure. These tracks feature Factor’s signature experimental hip-hop production, and spotlight some of our favourite artists on the rhymes. And you know what today is, right? It’s the second-last Friday of January 2014. Which means that the series is kicking off right now. Happy Factor Friday, everyone.

This month’s single is entitled “War With Yourself.” It features the legendary Freestyle Fellowship MC, Myka 9. And Enver Hampton on the bass. The track was mastered by Deeskee. Check it out below via SoundCloud.

Factor has done previous work with Myka 9 (you may have copped a listen to 1969, or the more recent Sovereign Soul project). They also teamed up for the track “Denied” off of Factor’s necromantic concept album, Woke Up Alone (peep our review of that over here).

“War With Yourself” will be available for purchase via iTunes on Jan. 31. So until then, listen it up via SoundCloud, and make sure you “Like” Factor’s official Facebook page to stay in-the-know on the Factor Friday’s Single Series.
