T-Bear – Something For The People [Mixtape]

Calgary, AB – Halifax-raised, Calgary-based T-Bear just dropped his highly anticipated Something For The People mixtape. Although T-Bear has dropped previous projects, he considers SFTP to be his debut mixtape. Fair enough. The tape is a serious good look for T-Bear, and a solid freshman project to have under his belt. The 15-track tape gives an all-encompassing introduction to one of Calgary’s hungriest up-and-comers.

The project is definitely something for the people: It’s got the party jams. It’s got the heavy emotional joints. It’s got the toke-and-smoke drug ballads. And –shocker– it’s also got some pretty suave love songs. Check out the tape below and head over here to cop a download.

Turn-up bangers like “Marijuana Dreams, Alcoholic Nightmares,” “Like I’m Spose To Do” and “We Major” are the tracks that sloppy party antics are made of. But things also get pretty heavy with some of the more emotional joints like “Hometown (Remix)” and “Wait For You.” T-Bear is not one to stray from expressing his feelers. And although T-Bear is proud to call Calgary home right now, the tape definitely shows a solid dose of love to Nova Scotia – T-Bear will always be a Halifax boy at-heart.

Most of the production on the project was done by Homegrown The Producer. But Vybe Beatz and Johnny Juliano also made some gnarly producing contributions. Also keep a look-out for some features from J-Curve, Lazy, and more. And if you’re liking what you’re hearing, make sure you head out to see Gyptian live at Vinyl Retro Lounge (213 – 10 Ave SW) on Feb. 15. T-Bear is providing opening support for the show. So guaranteed you’ll be in for some sick live performances of your favourite SFTP tracks.
