2013 Hip-Hop For Hunger – Cypher Videos [Video]

Edmonton, AB – On Dec. 21, the guys of Politic Live in Edmonton put on their 12th annual Hip-Hop For Hunger fundraiser to raise donations for the Edmonton food bank. Huge salute to everyone who participated and showed up. And to make things even cooler, we just got our hands on the official 2013 Hip-Hop For Hunger Cypher videos. Check them out after the jump.

YThe 2013 Hip-Hop For Hunger Cyphers [Video] -

In this first video for the 2013 Hip-Hop For Hunger OG Cypher (Daytona 500), we get a proper schooling from the city’s established old-timers. Participating artists include Jae Maze, Dirt Gritie (of Politic Live), Yak Dollaz (of Contraband) and Fatty Jones (of Gzus Murphy). Seriously, though. This is such a sick showcase of what I love about the cats in Edmonton. They all have their own flavour. So seeing them all together via one simultaneous cypher has me itching for more posse-cut tracks down the road. Please make this happen.

And then to keep things fresh, the 2013 Hip-Hop For Hunger Young Guns Cypher (Quiet Storm) gives light to some of the up-and-comers in the city. You may already be familiar with some of these dudes, because they’ve been on their grinds lately. Whether they’re cranking out new projects, or getting on the collaborations, these are some of the Edmonton artists to keep watch on. Participating artists include Jo Thrillz, $YDGB, Young Tox (of Triple Crown), and Cursive. These guys are much hungrier. But holy tight flow. This is but a glimpse of what the folks over in E-Town have in store for us in 2014.
