Tonight: Devin The Dude in Calgary at Commonwealth Bar & Stage [News]

Calgary, AB – Tonight our friends over at Hifi Club have teamed up with The Source and Sled Island to bring Devin The Dude to Commonwealth Bar & Stage (731 – 10 Ave SW) in Calgary. Remember everything you loved about underground hip-hop in the ’90s? That’s Devin The Dude. He is that dude. He’ll bring you back to those days of blunts, babes, booze, and all that goodness. And to make things that much better, Calgary’s Humble Giants are providing opening support tonight – that’s Beni J and Halfcut, by the way.

Doors to the venue open at 9 p.m. and tickets are $20. If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, you can cop them online via Zoobis, or get them at the door.

About Devin The Dude

Devin the Dude is a Houston-area rapper. Though relatively well-known among the underground hip-hop community during the mid-to-late 90’s, Devin did not achieve mainstream success until his appearance on Dr. Dre’s 2001 album. Besides sex, relationships, ridin’ trucks, smokin’ reefer, drinkin’ beer, partying, and conscious or proverbial themes, much of Devin’s work is also light-hearted and comically self-deprecating.

Copeland started out as a member of the Odd Squad, later known as the Coughee Brothaz, a group of rappers signed to Rap-A-Lot Records. The label is notable for being the home of hip-hop artists such as Geto Boys, Scarface, and Too Much Trouble.
