Frak – Encore ft. SonReal (Prod. SuperStar O) [Audio]

Vancouver, BCFrak recently teamed up with fellow Vancouver rapper, Juno-nominated SonReal, for this fresh new track entitled “Encore.” It’s delivers a hard-hitting universal message (that is – if you’re an aspiring rap cat) about reaching that state of supreme elation: doing an encore performance.

But it’s so much more than that. It’s about reaching the height of your career, and feeling like you’re on top of the world. Frak and SonReal verse over some sweet production, courtesy of SuperStar O, with engineering courtesy of SLY. The track begins with some spacey vocals, and it feels like a bit of a trip. But then the beat drops and it’s all mellow vibes and feel-good verses from there, onwards. This is the last release off Frak’s NightLight mixtape. Check it out below.

As a concert-goer, the encore is usually the crowd-favoured part of the show. It’s the last song. And usually it’s some monstrous hit that everyone knows the words to. So if the audience is getting that geeked on one performance, imagine what it’s like for the dude on stage. It’s kind of reminiscent of that time when Jay Z had that song on The Black Album entitled “Encore.” And it was this introspective look at the state of euphoria Hov reached while spitting that last encore on the mic.

Looks like it’s a universal goal. Hov lives for the encore. Frak lives for the encore. SonReal lives for the encore. And as this track points out – if you put the grind in, you’ll see the day where you actually get to perform the encore.
